Say The Word Game
Say the word is a bridal shower game, which is also known as "don't say it" and "maximum corsage game". Though these names do not sound familiar their basics are same.
Bridal shower games are not just aimed to have fun and to spend time by enjoying and mingling. It has the other purposes and it is also important to have fun. Bridal shower games are meant to facilitate the communication between the guests, who otherwise do not know each other. This communication will help them to be comfortable and interact at times of wedding ceremony and reception. The third and most important reason is that these games work as ice-breakers. Almost all of us have very busy routine and we barely get time to relax and enjoy. Many of us are overburdened with work and family responsibilities and felt stressed out due to these things. Bridal shower games take us away from this busy routine and stress. You will thoroughly enjoy and have fun through these games. These games will refresh you and give you some happy time.
"Say the words" or "Don’t say the words" is a very simple bridal shower game and does not require expensive things for the preparation. You will require anything that can be attached to the dress or hair of the guests. It could be hairpins, safety pins, name tags, or corsages. You must get the equal number of pins as the number of your guests. Do not forget to keep one extra gift for the winner different from wedding favors.
There are two aims behind planning for this bridal shower activity. Bridal shower helps to make an easy communication between guests who do not know each other. Once these guests start communicating, it helps them to enjoy their time together.
The second aim of these bridal shower games is to help all the guests to forget about their tensions and hectic schedule and spend some time playing and relaxing at the ceremony.
Say the word bridal shower game is commonly played almost in each bridal shower party, because it does not require any preparation and it is easy to play. Even elderly people could play this game as there is no need of any physical activity.
- Make nametags of each guest and mark ten strips at the bottom of it.
- Give the nametag to each guest, when he or she arrives at the party.
- Tell the guests that they are not allowed to say the word "wedding".
- If anyone from guests say "wedding", the other guests must tear one strip off from the offending guest’s nametag.
- The guests with maximum strips left with, would be the winner of the game.
- Instead of the word "wedding" you could use bride’s name in the game.
The modified version of this game is called as "Don't Touch It". In this game each guest is given a hairpin and he or she has to put it in his or her hair. Everybody has to put eye on each other and catch the person who touches his or her hair. The person caught while touching his/her hair has to remove the hairpin and give it to the guest who caught him/her. The person with maximum hairpins would be the winner of the game.
The guest who wins should be honored with some prize. The prize should not be expensive. It could be a small prize like a chocolate, candle, book, diary, pen, or soap. Make sure that you honor the winner of the each bridal shower game. You could give same kind of gifts to all winners or different gifts for different games.
You can give small and inexpensive gifts like scented soap, aromatic candle, box of homemade cookies, box of chocolates, extra piece of bridal shower cake, extra plate of finger food, or personalized napkin.
